New Jersey's Seven Witches presents a strong heavy metal album with City Of Lost Souls.  Two things struck me when I first listened to this album: Firstly, this is pure, raw heavy metal, no bells and whistles, just a good sound that reminds me of 80's metal.  Secondly, on a few songs, the vocals do resemble some early Metal Church.  Actually throughout this album the vocalist does show his impressive vocal range, making for some interesting diversity from song to song.  Add to that some great guitar riffs and, hell, what can I say, I put on a smile every time the CD player gets to this one! :)
The album includes a cover of Exciter's "Pounding Metal" and Pat Benatar's "Hell Is For Children", both very well executed, and always a joy to hear again (and again, and again...)
A great album that real metal fans will certainly enjoy, especially those 80s metal fans.  City Of Lost Souls definitely puts Seven Witches on my list of bands to watch for.
