The Gathering is the first compilation by Jørn Lande. It was released under his stage name Jorn on January 29, 2007, the same day as his new covers album Unlocking the Past. It was released exactly a year later, on January 29, 2008, in North America.
The album features songs from Jorn's solo career as well as songs from his time with such bands as Millennium, ARK and The Snakes as well as Jorn's collaboration with Symphony X lead singer Russell Allen.
Although the album is a greatest hits collection, most of the tracks on the album were reworked and remastered especially for the compilation. Some have even been re-recorded.
